Health Care Services:

Personalized care plans, fall prevention, emergency and evacuation plans, as well as highly skilled staff ensure that the residents at Bayfield Manor are healthy, secure and cared for at all times.

Nursing and Personal Care:

All residents at Bayfield Manor receive basic nursing and personal care including:

Some nursing and personal care on a 24-hour basis, including care given by or under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or a Registered Practical Nurse and assistance with activities of daily living.

Some supplies, equipment, and devices necessary for the provision of medical, nursing and personal care and activities of daily living.

Assistance in and out of the tub will be given once per week with bathing if requested by the resident. Additional baths with assistance can be arranged for an extra minimal cost.

Assistance with medications will be provided as an extension of the family by either a Registered Nurse or a Registered Nursing Assistant if requested by the resident.

Available onsite are Director of Nursing for consultation and Registered Nurse on duty at all times for emergency response.

Residents' Attending Physician:

Residents may continue to have the right to choose their own physician to provide care to them in the facility. Attending Physicians will be expected to meet the standards and criteria established by the government. If a resident does not have a local doctor, Bayfield Manor may assist in selecting a doctor for the resident.

Partners in Care:

Physiotherapy: Physiotherapy is available to residents who have been assessed by their physicians to require this service. The cost of these visits may be covered by OHIP.

Foot Care: Foot care by a Registered Nurse who has taken the advance foot care course is provided to all our residents on a monthly basis or as required by the resident.

Dental Services - Dentist: Arrangements may be made for dental visits through the Charge Nurse when necessary. We recommend an annual examination by a Dentist for all residents.

Dental Services - Denturist: Arrangements to have dentures made, relined or adjusted may be made by contacting the Charge Nurse or by contacting a Denturist of your choice. The Denture Therapist will provide services within the long-term care facility. The cost of these services is the responsibility of the resident.

Optometry: Care by a Registered Optometrist is provided for any resident requiring care. The cost of these visits may be covered by OHIP.

Audiology: Care by a Registered Audiologist is provided when requested. The cost may also be covered by OHIP.
